Recently in my quiet time I read a verse that struck me as very significant for our lives. It was Judges 13:25. "The Spirit of the LORD began to stir him." The Hebrew word translated "stir"has the meaning of being thrust out. The HCSB translates it, "began to direct him." The Message says, "began to work in him." And the NLT states that the Spirit, "began to take hold of him." I love that. When the Spirit stirs our spirit, it takes hold of us and directs to do the work He is calling us to do.In Psalm 77:4, Asaph is in distress. He says that his spirit is faint and that he is too troubled to even speak. The word translated, "troubled" is the same Hebrew word also translated, "stir".
